Sandra K. Surbrugg, M.D.

Dr. Surbrugg is a board certified dermatologist who has been practicing dermatology since 1985.  A native of Colorado, she attended the University of Colorado to earn a Bachelor of Science degree as a Child Health Associate, returning to earn her medical degree with honors in 1981.  Dr. Surbrugg completed an internship in pediatrics and a residency in dermatology, both at the University of Colorado. 

She is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology, specializing in dermatologic surgery and dermatopathology.   Dr. Surbrugg has served on the Credentials, Pharmacy-therapeutics, Medical Records and Peer Review committees at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.  She has also served as Chief of Staff of the hospital.

Her professional affiliations include; American Academy of Dermatology, American Medical Association, Wyoming Medical Society, Women’s Dermatologic Society, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery and Colorado Dermatologic Society, as well as her community involvement with the American Cancer Society, Laramie County Community College Foundation, Laramie County United Way, Wyoming Health Insurance Risk Pool and the Wyoming Medicare Advisory Committee. 

Dr. Surbrugg and her husband, Dr. Robert Prentice have two grown children and enjoy skiing, bicycling and traveling.

   

Kathleen A. Thomas, M.D.

Dr. Thomas has been practicing dermatology at the Cheyenne Skin Clinic since 1997.   She spent her school years in Cheyenne, graduating from the University of Wyoming, followed by Creighton University School of Medicine and a residency in pediatrics from the University of Michigan. 

She is a board certified pediatrician who has chosen to limit her practice to dermatology.  She has over ten years experience in dermatology with a special interest in acne, eczema and pediatric dermatology.

Dr. Thomas has served on the Credentials Committee for Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.  Her professional affiliations include the American Academy of Pediatrics, Wyoming Medical Society, Women’s Dermatologic Society and Colorado Dermatologic Society.

Dr. Thomas is married to Robert McCue and enjoys skiing and spending time with their three children.   

   

Mary O. Cole, M.D.

Dr. Cole has been in Cheyenne since 1999, and she joined the staff of Cheyenne Skin Clinic in 2001.  She earned both her bachelor’s degree in medicine and her medical degree with honors from Northwestern University Medical School in Illinois, where she also received training in internal medicine and primary care. 

Dr. Cole’s research experience included participation in Summer Research Institute in Geriatrics at the Buehler Center on Aging.    Her research presentation on “Use of Family Assessment in Clinical Care of the Elderly” was presented at the American Geriatric Society Conference in Washington, D.C., in May 1995.

Her professional affiliations include; the Wyoming Medical Society, the Wyoming Dermatologic Society and the Colorado Dermatologic Society.   Her leadership and volunteer activities include; Mothers of Preschoolers Steering Committee, Cabrini Green Youth Program Tutor, Admissions Committee for Honors Program in Medical Education and Patient Perspectives Participant/Coordinator.  She is also involved in the home-schooling community in Cheyenne and in her church.

Dr. Cole is married to Dr. Jay Cole, a pediatric dentist in Cheyenne.  She is a busy mother of four who enjoys spending time with her family.

   

Julie A. Neville, M.D.

Dr. Neville is a board certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon.  She joined the Cheyenne Skin Clinic in September 2007.

A Nebraska native, she earned her medical degree at the University of Nebraska Medical Center with high honors in 2002, completed her internship in internal medicine at the George Washington University Medical Center in 2003, followed by a dermatology residency and chief residency at Wake Forest University Medical Center in 2006.  After her fellowship at Yale University in Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery and cutaneous oncology, she made her home here in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Dr. Neville received the North American Clinical Dermatologic Society Research award in 2006, Women’s Dermatologic Society Mentorship award in 2005, AAD fellowship award to attend the EADV meeting in London in 2005, Jerald Schenken Outstanding Achievement in Pathology and Microbiology Award in 2005, Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society in 2001, Nebraska Medical Foundation Student Leadership Scholarship in 2001, and Phi Beta Kappa honor society in 1998.

Dr. Neville is a member and fellow in the American Academy of Dermatology, American College of Mohs Surgery, Colorado Dermatologic Society and Wyoming Medical Society.  She has completed research in skin cancer treatments and has written several papers and given presentation on this and other dermatologic topics. 

Dr. Neville is married and has one son.  She enjoys family, hiking, running, and reading.

   

Cathy J. Parish, F.N.P.

Cathy Parish is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner.  She received her BS in Nursing in 1983 at the University of North Dakota and a master’s degree in nursing in October of 2005.  Cathy joined the Cheyenne Skin Clinic in November, 2005. 

Cathy’s work experience includes over 20 years in the nursing field including, Maternal/Child Health Nursing/Adult Health Nursing in Sheridan and Cheyenne, Wyoming Department of Health, Children’s Health and High Risk Maternal/Infant Services Program Manager, Director of Mountain-Pacific Quality Health Foundation and Director and Regional Supervisor for the Laramie County WIC Program.

Her professional affiliations include; American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, member of Sigma Theta Tau National Nursing Honor Society,  Colorado Dermatologic Society, Wyoming Council for Advanced Practice Nursing, and Dermatology Nursing Association.

Cathy has a special interest in the treatment of acne, psoriasis, excessive sweating, wart treatment, skin cancer screening and education and treatment of photodamage.

Cathy is married with two children and enjoys bicycling and spending time outdoors.

   

Heather  L. Cooper, F.N.P

Heather Cooper joined Cheyenne Skin Clinic in October 2009.  She is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner who received her BS in nursing in 2005 at the University of Wyoming and her master’s degree in nursing in August of 2007.

Heather’s previous work experience includes maternal/family health and women’s healthcare.    She has a special interest in the skin and the effects of aging.  Heather is performing medical aesthetic procedures at the Adora Day Spa, specializing in injectable fillers.

Her professional affiliations include Wyoming Nurses Association,  Wyoming Council for Advanced Practice Nurses, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Sigma Theta Tau and Health Mothers, Healthy babies.

Heather is married and has three sons.  She enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with her family.
